Marilyn Denise Grayned Price, LCSW-C, LICSW is the founder and President of Ms. and Mr. Little Ones, Incorporated. Marilyn was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois. She received a Bachelor of Social Work from Norfolk State University and a Masters of Social Work from Howard University. She is a Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland and a Licensed Individual Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the District of Columbia. Marilyn’s dedication to empowering individuals can best be acknowledged by her extensive background domestically and abroad. She has dedicated over 15 years assisting individuals and families of all ages including active duty military and veterans, in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings using evidence-based practices that have led to healthy and sustainable positive outcomes. Marilyn has been a Behavioral Health Specialist since 2002, providing psychotherapy and life coaching to individuals, couples, families and groups dealing with life stressors and/or mental health challenges that include PTSD, mood, psychotic, behavior, anxiety, personality, neurocognitive and neurodevelopmental disorders. Her professional service includes former Regional/Program Director for The Institute for Family Centered Services in La Plata, Maryland, where she was responsible for operations, marketing, business development/implementation, and staff supervision for the family preservation and therapeutic support agency. Marilyn was the Clinical Supervisor at Contemporary Family Services in Hyattsville, Maryland where she was responsible for the oversight and supervision of Master’s level Social Workers that provided case management to children in treatment foster. Additionally, Marilyn was a Pregnancy Counselor for Bethany Christian Services where she provided counseling to birthparents and pre-adoptive parents; developed, marketed, and implemented a grant-funded program (Project Embrace) designed to decrease the number of “border babies” in the state of Maryland. Equally as important to providing direct services to individuals and families, Marilyn prides herself with being a change agent, life-long learner and educator who takes immense pleasure sharing the knowledge she has gained with others. Embracing the “each one teach one” philosophy, Marilyn has worked tirelessly providing educational workshops and trainings addressing various topics including foster/ adoptive parenting, adoption, child development, sexual assault, PTSD, uncoupling, ethical dilemmas, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, anger management, mental health diagnosis, pharmacology, and situational leadership to colleagues, clinicians, and diverse populations in the community. Internationally, Marilyn served as part of an interdisciplinary team of health care professionals on a mission trip to Benue State, Nigeria, Africa. In Nigeria, she facilitated HIV/AIDS education / prevention workshops to residents of the MKar community, and hospital personnel. Marilyn has received several certifications including Etiquette and Protocol for Children and Adolescents; HIV/AIDS; CPR/First Aid/AED; OraQuick Advance tester; Notary; Maryland registered supervisor for Maryland LCSW and LCSW-C licensure candidates. Community service has been the foundation of Marilyn’s heritage. She is the former National Alliance on Mental Illness Southern Maryland chapter’s Board of Directors Vice President; a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and The Association of Black Social Workers Metro Chapter Membership Chairperson. Marilyn is a servant to the community and believes paying it forward is the way to empower individuals and families to obtain their highest potential and change social injustice.
